“World Tree” Red Oaks School, Swindon 2007 – 2008 h. 300cm x 200cm diameter English Oak, stainless steel, cast resin, anodised aluminium.
Commissioned by Artpoint and designed in collaboration with junior children from several year groups during a week long residency at the school. It took as its central concern the concept of the “global village” and was conceived to become a central feature of the school both physically and educationally, to be used as a learning resource and focus for a seasonal calendar of events in the curriculum. |
